The BFC Foundation has welcomed Andin Fonyonga to its board of trustees. Fonyonga joins fellow trustees David Pemsel, Pam Batty, Laura Strain and Caroline Rush.
Fonyonga is a senior lawyer and fashion enthusiast who leads a legal and compliance function for a global e-commerce fashion retailer. She has over 15 years of legal, compliance and governance experience, and has previously worked at Hogan Lovells, a global law firm, and BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager. She is passionate about fighting social inequality and is known for driving corporate and culture change. A born and bred Londoner, Fonyonga has previously served on the board of trustees of The Kids Network, a children’s charity based in London, BFC said in a press release.
“I look forward to working alongside my fellow Trustees to continue the important work of the BFC Foundation. Collectively, we share the same mission of continuing the provision of funding to young creatives, scholars and designers, and to make sure we deliver impactful initiatives, drive awareness and create momentum where it counts the most. This is especially important now as we focus on supporting the BFC community and talent as they face increased headwinds and uncertainty,” Fonyonga said.
Since 2020, the BFC Foundation charity has worked hard to strengthen its structure and strategy; developing a growing global Patron programme (headed up by Tania Fares and Narmina Marandi), growing its fundraising objectives and importantly, fortifying the governance of the charity.
