Vestiaire Collective appoints Rickie De Sole to board
Resale platform Vestiaire Collective has appointed industry veteran Rickie De Sole to its board of directors.
The appointment comes as the company plans to expand its presence in the United States and aims to achieve B Corporation certification. De Sole’s deep industry knowledge and U.S. base is expected to bolster Vestiaire Collective’s efforts to strengthen its foothold across the country.
“With her deep industry insights, Rickie will play an integral role on the board of Vestiaire Collective during a pivotal point in the company’s growth and will help accelerate our business globally,” said Fanny Moizant, co-founder and president of Vestiaire Collective.
De Sole brings a wealth of experience to the board. Currently, she serves as vice president, fashion director at Nordstrom, since January 2022. Her previous roles include executive fashion director at Vogue.com, fashion director at W Magazine, accessories director at Vogue Magazine, and PR positions at Prada. De Sole has also served on the boards of Rent the Runway and Thom Browne.
“I am pleased to join the Vestiaire Collective board at a time when they are gaining strong momentum in the United States,” added De Sole. “I see tremendous opportunity for me to support Vestiaire Collective’s leadership team in driving brand awareness and accelerating its growth in the U.S.”
The company recently relocated its global CEO, Maximilian Bittner, to New York, established a new U.S.-based team led by North America CEO Samina Virk, and introduced a 0% commission structure for U.S. sellers. Additionally, Vestiaire Collective launched a VIP Concierge Service in New York and organized exclusive celebrity closet sales, including one by Oscar-winning actress and producer Jessica Chastain.
With De Sole’s appointment, Vestiaire Collective also reaches its goal of having 50% women on its board.
