Directed by Ally Pankiw and written by Dan Levy, the film stars Levy himself as a judge overseeing a national spelling bee spanning from 1971 to the present day. Joining him on stage is actress Aubrey Plaza, embodying various contestants from each era.

Set against a backdrop of iconic Loewe fashion pieces from its archive, Plaza seamlessly transitions through the decades, sporting 70s curtain bangs and oversized glasses to exuding glamorous 80s Miami style and embodying a 90s Texan socialite with an Amazona bag. Her final look showcases the avant-garde designs of Loewe’s FW22 runway, donning a dress shaped like a car.

Plaza recently made her stage debut in the Off-Broadway production of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea. She also starred in the second season of Mike White’s The White Lotus which garnered her Emmy and Golden Globe nominations as well as a SAG Award. Meanwhile, Levy recently made his directorial debut with Netflix’s Good Grief, which he wrote, produced, and starred in. He is equally known for his Emmy-winning work on
‘Schitt’s Creek’.
