Parisian label A.P.C. has prepared for the summer season by broadening its range, presenting its first unisex sunglasses collection, a tribute to cult New York rock band The Velvet Underground.
The collection consists of four models in various colours for 14 pairs of glasses in total, which have been recently made available at the label’s stores, on its e-shop, and at select multibrand retailers.
Each pair comes with a case, and is named after one of the band’s members. The glasses’ temples are inscribed with the ‘Wait and See’ slogan devised by Jean Touitou, A.P.C.’s founder. The models are all made in Japan. The Lou glasses come in either 100% metal or 100% acetate and are priced at €195, while the Nico, Sterling and Moe models, in the same materials, are priced at €250.
A.P.C. has called on some of its friends to create the line’s launch campaign: Japanese designer Irie, director Guillaume Doubet, and designer Camille Bidault-Waddington, as well as some family members, all of them posing for British photographer Sam Rock.
“A portrait gallery that perfectly illustrates the versatility of these four sunglasses models which, like the A.P.C. look, combine quality and originality with a rocker vibe,” said the label on its website.
