Last week, the transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who infamously cost Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch over $1.4 billion in sales last year, was excited to release the song “Days Of Girlhood.” Now, however, Mulvaney is already backing down and admitting that it is the “most annoying song in the history of ever.”

Mulvaney Backtracks On ‘Days Of Girlhood’

“The fact that both conservatives and liberals would probably agree that this is potentially the most annoying song in the history of ever was no small task,” Mulvaney, 27, said in a video posted to TikTok, according to Daily Mail.

Mulvaney went on to say that though the song is packed with “dumb lyrics,” it was meant to be “fun” and reminiscent of the 1983 Cyndi Lauper hit “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”

“I don’t think that womanhood or girlhood is chalked up to be these like silly, frivolous things,” Mulvaney explained. “I still think we should be allowed to enjoy those things. And I could have probably written a song about my pain or my trauma. But I didn’t want to.”

That being said, Mulvaney admitted that it is a “really bad song” in the eyes of many, and that this comes down to the transgender influencer’s own “bad music taste.”

Mulvaney’s Song Slammed

This came one week after Mulvaney released the song, which included lyrics about women “overspending” and needing “retail therapy” and having to “pick up meds” and face a “breakdown.” Mulvaney went on to claim that women “flirt for drinks” and to discuss a “walk of shame” after spending a night with a man despite not even knowing “his name.”

The Mail columnist Amber Duke spoke out afterwards to slam the “misogyny” of the song, saying that it came from someone “cosplaying a biological female.” Duke added that the song is full of “classic sexist tropes” that “women are addicted to clothes” and “can’t control their emotions.”

“Newsflash: biological women don’t need a crash course on ‘how to girl’. We were born this way,” Duke wrote. “Sure, we learn from our mothers and female mentors how to deal with puberty, periods and pregnancy. But these are biological realities that Mulvaney will never experience.”

Mulvaney Costs Anheuser-Busch $1.4 Billion

Anheuser-Busch lost over $1.4 billion in sales last year after Bud Light teamed up with Mulvaney for a partnership in April of 2023. CNN reported that when Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD) reported record revenues for 2023, the company admitted that its “full growth potential was constrained” by its U.S. business, with sales being hurt by the Bud Light boycott that was launched over the Mulvaney partnership.

“In the U.S., performance remains very underwhelming with revenue down at double-digit rates as the group lost market share,” said Aarin Chiekrie, an equity analyst at online investing platform Hargreaves Lansdown.

Anson Frericks, a former president of operations for Anheuser-Busch, admitted last summer that Bud Light made a “mistake” in teaming up with Mulvaney.

“[Bud Light] was the largest brand in the U.S. because it was remarkably apolitical,” he stated. “It was always about sports, it was always about music, it was about bringing people together. That’s why it was a mistake that they did this campaign in the first place because they were unable to come out.”

“This campaign was a mistake,” Frericks continued. “Anheuser-Busch will not be doing campaigns like this moving forward. We’ll get back to the things that bring everybody together. Hopefully that can protect the jobs at Anheuser-Busch, jobs at wholesalers and get this company back growing in the right direction.”

What Mulvaney is doing continues to be an insult to biological women everywhere. It’s baffling that any real woman would support Mulvaney, particularly after the blatant sexism of the transgender influencer’s song “Days Of Girlhood.”
