Harry Styles’ Pleasing unveils Austin, Texas pop-up
Pleasing has just opened a new pop-up destination and experience, dubbed Pleasing Saloon. It’s in Austin, Texas, and will run until 19 May. Opening day drew big crowds.
Why Austin? The fast-growing beauty-to-fashion and lifestyle brand launched by Harry Styles said that “with its community always front of mind, it’s no surprise that Pleasing’s first-ever pop-up in a secondary market comes as a direct response to overwhelming demand over the last 2.5 years, directly from the brand’s Texas-based community”.
The idea of the space is that visitors will “have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique world of Pleasing — a brand synonymous with joy, optimism, and colour”.
The Pleasing Saloon is on “iconic” South Congress and is designed to “replicate a western saloon — with a notably Pleasing twist”.
That means an exterior with strong western references including classic saloon doors and a front porch, as well as shopfront signage in western-inspired fonts, “all reimagined in a bright and optimistic palette that epitomises Pleasing love of colour, including pinks, yellows, lavenders, and peaches with pops of red”.
Those western references are continued inside, including horse-print wallpaper, display tables inspired by wild west saloon bars and a neon galloping horse light.
Included in the product offer is a limited-edition capsule taking in apparel, accessories, “themed giftables, and much more”.
The products continue the cowboy tongue-in-cheek references with motifs across ready-to-wear and accessories. That could be tote bags showing a horse hoof receiving a manicure with Pleasing’s nail varnishes, the brand’s logo designed in lasso rope fonts, or a rodeo riding cowboy atop a rocking Pleasing fragrance bottle.
That capsule will launch on its webstore soon with the company saying the date is to be announced.
Also on the launch front as part of the Texas experience, Pleasing is unveiling two new Big Lip flavours – Vanilla Fig and Peppermint Honey – after the success of its inaugural flavour Pepper.
These offer “a multi-sensory experience, targeting the taste and olfactory senses, packaged in the popular oversized aluminium container”. The two newcomers are exclusively available at the Austin pop-up for the first few days of opening, ahead of launching at Pleasing.com for global purchase from 30 April.
