Illegal Immigrant Caught At Border Admits Being Hezbollah Terrorist, Sought To ‘Make A Bomb’
An illegal immigrant captured at the southern border reportedly admitted to being a member of Hezbollah with plans to travel to New York and âmake a bomb.â
The terrifying story of Basel Bassel Ebbadi, a 22-year-old illegal immigrant from Lebanon, was first reported by the New York Post on Sunday.
The outlet obtained a document from the United States Border Patrol in which it summarized a âterroristic threatâ Ebbadi made to personnel.
The illegal alien, according to the document, âclaimed membership to a foreign terrorist organization.â
That organization is identified by the Post as Hezbollah. The group recently expressed support for the October 2023 Hamas terror attacks on Israel. These attacks resulted in the deaths of over 1,100 people, including 767 civilians and 36 children.
When âasked what he was doing here in the USâ, Ebbadi replied, âIâm going to try to make a bomb.â
Illegal Immigrant Wanted To Make A Bomb, Travel To New York
Internal ICE documents obtained by the Post seem to indicate a man who claimed to be an involuntary terrorist. In an interview with officials, Ebbadi alleged he âdidnât want to kill people.â
Furthermore, he suggested of membership in the terror group that âonce youâre in, you can never get out.â
Ebbadi wasnât just a recent recruit either. In discussion with officials, he admitted to being a member of Hezbollah for several years.
His mission focus, according to the Post, was focused on âjihadâ and killing people âthat (were) not Muslim.â
Pouring Over The Border From The Middle East
The Political Insider reported shortly after the terror attacks in Israel on data from the Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
In the past two years, thousands of illegal immigrants from the Middle East have been apprehended at the southern border, according to the available data.
The numbers showed illegals crossing the border from numerous countries known to harbor terrorists.
Shortly after that report, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump unveiled an extensive platform designed to keep âanti-American and anti-Semitic foreignersâ from continuing to infiltrate this country.
If elected, Trump vows to implement âstrong ideological screeningâ for all potential immigrants. Those harboring known sympathies to jihad and Hamas are automatically disqualified based on this plan.
