Matilda Djerf Hair Products: An Honest Review
Djerf Avenue Beauty has landed in the UK, and if you’re anything like me, you’re excited to finally be able to recreate Matilda Djerf’s hair with her very own products. The Swedish influencer and brand owner is well-known for her voluminous bouncy blowouts and her slicked-back buns, and the brand has launched two products that cater to those exact Pinterest-worthy looks. And with hair as incredible as Matilda’s, I want in on what she’s using.
I was sent the two products in the current launch line-up, the Breezy Styling Mist and the On The Go Styling Gel, ahead of its launch on the 27th March to testâand I have some thoughts. Scroll ahead as I attempt to recreate Matilda Djerf’s looks with the new hair products, and my honest review and thoughts on the formulas.

Djerf Avenue Beauty: Breezy Styling Mist Review
Djerf Avenue Beauty
Breezy Styling Mist
Pros: Great scent, flexible hold, adds volume, heat protection, weightless feel, can be brushed out, hydrating ingredients
Cons: Can be sticky if you use too much on dry hair
First up, we have the Breezy Styling Mistâthe priming answer to Djerf’s bouncy blowouts that promises volume, flexible hold and heat protection ahead of heat styling. It can be used on damp hair after shampooing, or to refresh dry hair in between styling to top-up your look. It can also be used to air-dry hair with added beachy texture. “Whenever I need a touch up I love to use the styling mist in dry hair,” says Djerf. “I spray a little bit on the roots and then brush it out so it distributes evenly, then I go in with the round brush and blow dry.”
Being in between wash days, I opted to spritz through dry hair before using my Dyson Airwrap round brush attachment (a favourite hair tool of Djerf’s) to add some volume and bounce. As I misted it through my lengths, the first thing I noticed was the incredible scent. If Le Labo Santal 33 and Glossier You had a baby, this would be it.
The second thing I noticed was that this really does as grip and hold to the hair. You only need a light spritz on each section, otherwise it could be too much and you may find your hot brush tugging. Hot brush curls are hard to keep in my hair, but this really helped to add volume and hold to my sections.
Most importantly, however, is that there is zero crunchiness or heaviness from using it. My hair felt totally weightless but had more structure and hold than if I’d not prepped my hair with it. I can run my fingers through it, zhoosh it and brush it and it bounces back. Alongside the Matilda levels of volume and long-lasting hold, I’m pleased to report that the delicious scent noticeably stays in the hair too.
Djerf Avenue Beauty: On The Go Styling Gel
Djerf Avenue Beauty
On the Go Styling Gel
Pros: Creates sleek styles, tames flyaways, adds shine, can be used to define curls, available in fragranced and unfragranced.
Cons: None
I’ve always struggled to get the perfect slicked-back bun a la Djerf, so I was excited to try this styling gel out. My hair is coarse and wiry, which means I have flyaways aplenty, so getting a smooth and sleek result is often tricky.
I was pleasantly surprised by this formula as it has multiple uses, whether you want to create a sleek bun or ponytail, or create defined and glossy curls on curly or coily hair textures. This features the same scent as the Breezy Styling Mist, but it’s also available in a fragrance-free version if scent isn’t your thing.
The gel-cream texture has a smoothing effect that tamed even my most stubborn flyaways and kept my hair looking sleek all day long. I applied some gel through the upper sections of my hair and used a boar-bristle brush to smooth hair back before running a little more gel to set everything in place.
It’s easily layerable, so if you need stronger hold you don’t run the risk of making your hair look heavy or greasy. Incredibly, it feels and looks very lightweight in the hair without a hint of stickinessâmy hair actually felt really nourished from using it. That’ll be the squalene, glyercine and aloe vera that feature in the formula alongside lightweight hydrolysed linseed extract and marula oils.
Even after taking my hair down from my sleek bun, my hair didn’t feel overly greasy. I could still get a brush through it and I could still get away with restyling if I needed toâno shampoo required the next day, which is a big win if you like to switch up your style a lot.
The Verdict
All in all, I’m honestly so impressed with these two hair products. I love how they can seamlessly fit into my day-to-day hair care routine and they are both really easy to useâI love that they can be used in multiple ways to achieve different looms without having to use numerous products to get the lookâa nice way to streamline your hairstyling routine for sure. They may be more spenny than other hair care brands around, but for their easy-to-use formulas and luxurious scents, I think they are totally worth it.
