Melania Trump Launches Return To Campaign Trail After Mourning Her Mother
The former First Lady Melania Trump is finally set to return to her husbandâs campaign trail after taking four months off to mourn her beloved mother Amalija Knavs, who died back in January at the age of 78.
Melania Returns To Campaign Trail
Politico reported that Melania is scheduled to hold her first major political event of the year on April 20, when she will host a fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans at her Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. The event will be the launch of the organizationâs âRoad to Victoryâ program, which plans to target voters in swing states.
Melania has been loyal for years to the Log Cabin Republicans, which describes itself as â the nationâs largest Republican organization dedicated to representing LGBT conservatives and allies.â Melania was the special guest at a dinner the organization hosted back in 2021 at Mar-a-Lago, and she was even given a special award.
Last month, Melania told a reporter to âstay tunedâ when asked when she would be returning to Donald Trumpâs campaign trail, according to CNN.
Trump Discusses Melaniaâs Return
When asked last year if Melania would be joining him on the campaign trail, the former President Trump said that she would be âpretty soon.â
âSheâs a private person, a great person, a very confident person, and she loves our country very much,â he said back in September. âAnd honestly, I like to keep her away from it. Itâs so nasty and so mean.â
In February of this year, Trump said that Melania would be on the campaign trail âquite a bitâ once her period of mourning for her mother was over.
âItâs funny, she was a very successful model, very, very successful, and yet she was a private person,â Trump said, according to The Hill. âSheâs going to be out a lot. Not because she likes doing it, but she likes the results. She wants to see this country really succeed. She loves the country.â
âYou know, a lot of first ladies would go out â they want to be everywhere. They get angry at their husband because heâs not introducing them,â he continued. âIf I didnât introduce Melania, sheâd be very happy about it. Sheâs just a different kind of a person.â
Melaniaâs Devotion To Barron
Trump went on to describe Melania as a âvery brilliant person,â who âspeaks many languagesâ and is devoted to their 18 year-old son Barron.
âHer life evolves around that boy,â Trump explained. âItâs so important to her. At the same time, it also revolves around our country and the success of our country. Sheâs raised a lot of money for charity. Sheâs a private person.â
âAnd she loves the country. Sheâs going to be out a lot but she does it for the good of the country, not for her,â he concluded. âSheâs somebody with a lot of confidence. She doesnât need that.â
One month before that, Trump said that Melania is âgonna play, and she always did play a big role. She was somebody that you could rely on.â
Melania Mourns Her Mother
Melania was left devastated by her beloved motherâs death, and she delivered a stirringly emotional eulogy at her funeral back in January.
âA ray of light in the darkest of days,â Melania said of her mother in the eulogy, according to Newsweek. âIn her company, I found peace knowing that she would always be there to listen. She celebrated our successes and provided unwavering support during chaotic times.â
âOur bond was unbreakable,â she continued. âA testament to the power of a true love for one another. She was my dear friend. An irreplaceable treasure. A gift bestowed upon me by the universe. And for that, I am entirely grateful. Rest in peace, my beloved mommy.â
Despite what the left says about her, Melania was an incredible first lady, and there are millions of Americans who adore her. While itâs good that she took time off to mourn her mother, itâs great to see that sheâs ready to return to the campaign trail, as she might just end up being her husbandâs secret weapon!
