Reviewed by Editors: Eighth Day’s Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer
As a beauty editor, it’s basically my job to sort through all the latest and greatest offerings when it comes to essential products like moisturizers, primers, and sunscreens. I honestly love getting to do so, but layering so many products on my skin all the time can feel tedious. It adds so many extra steps in the morning (but is highly necessary if you want to stay protected from premature aging). I recently picked up regenerative skincare brand Eighth Day’s brand-new Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer ($140) and couldn’t wait to shout from the rooftops of my L.A. apartment about how good it is because it acts as all three of those products in one.
If you’re not familiar with Eighth Day, let me explain a bit more about the brand first. Eighth Day is pioneered by board-certified dermatologist, dermatologic surgeon, scientist, and innovator Anthony Nakhla. He’s a leading authority in the realm of skin cancer treatment and wound healing, which led him to create his regenerative Peptide-Rich Plasma. This innovative skincare technology is the base of all Eighth Day products. It’s composed of 24 bioidentical synthetic peptides, growth factors, and amino acids, which penetrate deep into the skin’s surface for total renewal. It’s one of my favorite skincare brands on the market because the results are real and come in fast.
I first tried the brand’s Regenerative Serum ($325), which yes, is an expensive product, but I won’t back a high-end brand unless I truly believe in it. It gives your skin the most incredible glow, and it features other powerhouse skincare ingredients like gylcolic acid and niacinamide to refine skin’s texture and fade dark spots. You can then imagine my excitement when the brand dropped this new offering—a primer, moisturizer, and SPF in one. And don’t worry—it also features Nakhla’s legendary Peptide-Rich Plasma.
I’m always a bit skeptical when it comes to moisturizer-sunscreen hybrids, especially if they’re mineral formulas like this one because they tend to be chalky and don’t provide enough moisture, but that’s definitely not the case here. This one is so smooth and lightweight and blends in so easily. Like a lot of other mineral sunscreens, it does have a bit of an orange tint to it, but I never had an issue with it getting on my clothes or it not rubbing in easily. It creates a smooth, silky base for makeup and never makes my foundation look dry or patchy, which I really appreciate. Overall, this is such a nice addition to the Eighth Day family. Like I said above, I’m obsessed with the brand’s Regenerative Serum, and the Priming Moisturizer didn’t disappoint either. If you like to get maximum results while using fewer products in your skincare routine, I definitely think you should give this one a go. It saves so many steps and really brightens, hydrates, and protects your skin like no other.
