With over 25 years of experience in sportswear, White joins Under Armour from New Balance, where he held the role of vice president of global lifestyle, basketball and innovation.

Prior to that, he had an long-serving career at Nike, where he most recently was vice president of performance sports and cross category concepts, responsible for propelling growth across Nike’s category businesses, including Nike tennis, Nike golf, men’s and women’s training, football, baseball, and Nike SB.

The executive also held the roles of vice president of footwear at Jordan brand and vice president/general manager of Nike basketball in Shanghai.

In his new role at Under Armour, White will report directly to Yassine Saidi, chief product officer. He will be based out of the brand’s Portland office where he will be responsible for creating both footwear and apparel to drive profitable growth and build exciting product. He will develop and execute product strategies across the sportswear, run, basketball, Curry brand, and collaboration categories, according to a press release.

“We are so excited to welcome Yuron to Under Armour. His experience in sportswear and footwear will be instrumental in our next chapter of growth and delivering elevated design and product. I know that he will help us extend the reach of our offerings and partnerships to drive consumer demand,” said Saidi.

White’s recruitment is the latest in the U.S. sportswear firm’s strengthening of its product leadership team and the first leadership hire with Kevin Plank as CEO.

“I am honored to join Under Armour as the SVP, sportswear, run, basketball/Curry and collaborations, a brand renowned for its commitment to innovation and excellence in sports,” said White.

“I am eager to lead the charge in creating cutting-edge footwear solutions that empower athletes to reach new heights of performance. Together, we will build on Under Armour’s legacy of pushing boundaries and setting new standards, driving growth and success both on and off the field. I look forward to contributing to the next chapter of Under Armour’s journey to inspire athletes worldwide.”

White’s appointment comes several weeks after the reappointment of Under Armour founder Kevin Plank to the role of president and chief executive officer at the Oregon-based sportswear firm.
